Personalised Bath Towels!

22/3/2017

March has been a month of personalisation.  A lovely set of bunting for a baby's nursery - Samuel Thomas has his new names on some powder blue and white bunting.  His Mum was happy with it and I'm sure he will be too as he grows up.
Two lovely sisters reached 18 this month and they hope to go to University in the Autumn - Manchester and Sheffield.  I personalised two huge brightly coloured bath sheets with their initials so they will be decent and trendy in their student digs!!
I wonder if this could be a new line of gifts for Bunting Central?  Personalised towel sets.

Summerhouse Bunting

21/9/2016

There's nothing quite like bunting to bring the feeling of seaside fun and beach huts to what can be a disappointing summer.....  The day after sunbathing and barbecueing you can find yourself huddled inside the summerhouse against the rain.  This bunting was planned for a summerhouse during a garden party to celebrate a friend's birthday.  Unfortunately the rain was unrelenting but the bunting brought smiles to wet faces!!  Photos taken when the sun returned several days later!

A Real White Wedding

Saturday 7th May saw the wedding of my son Daniel to the lovely Lucy Ainsworth.  It was a truly fabulous day full of joy, laughter, worship, sunshine, music, dancing, cakes and food.  Oh and bunting of course.  I tied silver grey ribbon along the length of the White Wedding bunting and the church was decorated with country flowers in vintage milk bottles from Lucy's family's dairy.

2016 - The year to hire bunting!

So will 2016 be the year you hire bunting for your party or celebration?
In 2015 Bunting Central bunting graced six weddings, a gin festival, the Olympic Park, and 3 parties.
This year sees my son Dan and his betrothed Lucy get married and the White Wedding bunting will be decorating the church.  It truly will be a White Wedding as Lucy will become Lucy White and we're all very excited at the prospect!

Budget Line

Having been contacted by several charities lately enquiring about cheap or even free bunting for their fundraising events I embarked on a chain of thought that has culminated in me making a "Cheap and Cheerful" set of bunting for such a use.  There will be about 80 metres of single layer fabric bunting that isn't sewn but rather has pinking sheared edges.  It should be suitable for charity galas, garden parties, church parties, community events etc and will hopefully cost a fraction of my high class wedding bunting.  Watch this space for further news!

Knitting sidelines....

Bunting is a lovely pursuit but it does need you to be at a sewing machine or within reach of a large table.  What I'm really saying is that it's not portable!  Working as a notetaker at the University I often have an hour free between booked lectures so I've taken up knitting!

I decided against knitting bunting flags but needed the knitted item to be small, so I'm knitting bootees - baby shoes!  I've had to make it clear to anyone seeing me knitting that I'm not going to become a Grandmother any time soon. I'm also knitting flowers - having entered the shadowy world of knitting I've got involved with a planned yarn bombing of the Garforth Arts Festival in July.  There's a lot of interesting ideas out there.....  I'm making some of the flowers into brooches. I shall probably sell the bootees and brooches alongside my bunting.

So watch this space for photos coming soon.

I seem to be drawn to create things beginning with B...

Here is a sneak preview of the latest colour scheme.  A friend requested burgundy and cream with crisp sophisticated lines, so I didn't include the floral prints in the string of bunting for her daughter's wedding.  I plan to offer some strings with the floral and some without!

Now when it comes to naming the new colour scheme I felt I had to do some research.  Burgundy?  Wine?  Merlot?  Shiraz?  Claret?  Port?   After some sampling I think I'm going with Merlot!
